the Perch

Welcome to The Perch! As you prepare for your trip to McArthur, we suggest you check the weather. There aren’t too many times that the roads are closed, however, it’s best to be prepared because there is a portion of the road getting into Fall River Valley that does get snow regularly. With that said, once you arrive, you will be quite cozy here.

 

The Perch has central heating & air, a pellet stove, individual heater units in the master & downstairs in one of the large bedrooms. There are also two portable oil heaters that can be moved into a space if someone needed that extra bit of warmth.

 

Each room is equipped with beds, sheets, extra blankets and extra pillows and space to hang up clothes. Bathrooms are equipped with towels and basic toiletries. Reading lamps and alarm clocks accessorize each room for those late-night readers and early risers.

 

One master bedroom with a King size bed. This room has a bathroom attached as well as a private deck. (Small extra perk for this room – the best seat in the house is the master toilet! You can have a view of Mt. Lassen out one window, and a view of Mt. Shasta out a different window!)

 

Close to the master bedroom is an office which is equipped with a full bunk bed on the bottom bunk, a twin on top and a twin trundle bed.

 

We have a laundry room with a washer & dryer as well as basic cleaning supplies and laundry supplies. In the kitchen, there is an electric stovetop with 5 burners, an oven, microwave, Keurig & regular coffee pot, a dining table that seats 10. Island in kitchen seats 5. Off the living room and kitchen is a beautiful deck that offers the view of a lifetime. Sprawling countryside with cows grazing, Mt. Lassen showing on clear days, the Pit River running below the house. Give yourself just a few minutes and you will see birds, cows, we even have some resident deer that frequent the property. Various outdoor furniture makes this deck a cozy spot to sit back and enjoy the view for hours. The Perch offers a three car insulated garage.

 

Downstairs there are two bedrooms and one full bathroom (Jack & Jill style). One bedroom offers three twin beds and the other bedroom has a bunk bed with a full on the bottom and a a twin on the top. There is also a separate twin bed in the bunk-bed room. There is also a deck off the bottom floor similar to the upper level.  Equipped with outdoor furniture, the downstairs guest rooms have their own deck for viewing pleasure
